I love CC creams and tinted moisturizers. CC creams are the next best thing when you want more coverage for blemishes, while also wearing very little makeup. CC creams are great for when you want your makeup to be undetectable like barely-there makeup, or when you want to wear light makeup that is not heavy on the skin.
Tinted moisturizers, on the other hand, are great for people with dry skin because they will add moisture to the skin, while also adding some coverage for minor blemishes and redness.
The CC in CC cream stands for color control. CC creams are similar to BB creams and tinted moisturizers, but they tend to have more coverage for blemishes than BB creams do (though there are some BB creams out there that have awesome coverage) while adding a big moisturizing effect and natural healthy ingredients to the skin. CC creams are basically what you would get when you mix a light coverage foundation with the healing ingredients found in BB creams, and the moisturizing effect found in tinted moisturizers.
I have purchased many CC creams and tinted moisturizers over the years, and some of them are absolutely amazing! Out of all the ones that I have tried so far, here are my top favorite best 5 CC creams and tinted moisturizers of all time.
Andalou Naturals Fruit Stem Cell CC Cream With 1000 Roses Rose Stem Cells
I love this CC cream. In fact, I love Andalou Naturals makeup products in general. They have such high-quality organic and natural makeup products. This particular CC cream by them is for sensitive skin with SPF 30, and this was the darkest shade that they had at the time.
This CC cream moisturizes the skin with Alpine rose stem cells, it is vegan and cruelty-free, it is very comfortable to wear on the skin for hours, and it has a mattifying effect on the skin. This CC cream has a subtle rose scent that is quite lovely.
The Andalou Naturals CC cream is packed with excellent ingredients for the skin including aloe, jojoba, sunflower oil, bioactive 8 berry complex, magnolia, alpine rose, pomegranate, Boswellia extract, date leaf, rosehip, rose, algae, melon extracts, white tea, rooibos, hibiscus extracts, vitamin E, and rose geranium. This CC cream does not contain parabens and it is made in the USA.
When using this CC cream, I always apply some concealer with it to my cheeks and chin to give me extra coverage, since it is not a high-coverage CC cream.
Juice Beauty Organic Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream
This CC cream can be used on the face and around the eyes as an eye treatment. It has a wonderful herbal essential oil smell that I absolutely love. This CC cream also comes in 5 different shades. Most brands usually only come out with 1-3 shades for CC creams, so this is nice.
This CC cream by Juice Beauty is packed with many natural organic healing ingredients for the skin including fruit stem cells, apple buds, lemon bark, grape buds, apple juice, white grape juice, organic aloe leaf juice, organic coconut oil, castor seed oil, organic sunflower seed oil, organic jojoba seed oil, vitamin E, vitamin C, vegetable hyaluronic acid, mandarin, and pure essential oils. This CC cream also contains SPF 30.
Lavera Naturkosmetik Colour Correction 8-In-1 Anti-Ageing Organic CC Cream From Plants
This is a foreign CC cream that is vegan and made in Germany. This CC cream is made with minerals, it is natural and organic, and it contains ingredients that come from plants. Unlike the first two CC creams in this list, this one does not have an essential oil smell to it; it simply smells like clay.
Christine’s Natural Qualities All-Natural Tinted Moisturizer
I absolutely love this tinted moisturizer. I bought two of Christine’s Natural Qualities tinted moisturizers, but only the darkest shade in Dark Neutral suits my skin tone. The lighter shade that I purchased had a much lighter clay smell to it than this darker shade, which has a pretty strong clay smell. Though the smell is strong, it does fade quickly once you start moving around or go outside.
I have been wearing this brand’s tinted moisturizers daily since Coronavirus started because it barely gets on clothing. When I wear a face mask, I can wear the mask over and over again without much makeup showing up in it because this tinted moisturizer does not transfer very much at all; it is for this reason, as well as the strong coverage that it gives, that I adore this tinted moisturizer so much.
The Christine’s Natural Qualities tinted moisturizers contain many great healing natural ingredients for the skin including aloe, shea butter, almond oil, rosehip seed, vitamin E, calendula, frankincense, lemon, sage, and tea tree essential oils.
These tinted moisturizers come in four shades, and it is vegan, natural, and soy-free. The base of this tinted moisturizer has a lotion base and feel to it when you apply it to your skin. When you apply this tinted moisturizer, make sure that you apply it quickly in small sections because it adheres and dries quickly to the skin; this is why there is not much transfer onto clothing and face masks from this tinted moisturizer.
Jane Be Pure Organic Agua Ceuticals Sheer Tinted Moisturizer
I used to have a love and hate relationship with this tinted moisturizer. I love the formula and the great amount of coverage that it gives, but the product is a bit messy. In the end, the quality of the product won me over despite the issues that I have with the packaging.
This tinted moisturizer has great coverage for blemishes, it is organic and paraben-free, and it contains SPF 30. This tinted moisturizer is made in Canada and half of the packaging is made from recycled materials since this is an eco-friendly brand.
This tinted moisturizer is made with many good healing ingredients for the skin including organic green tea extract, organic white tea extract, camellia leaf extract, aloe, Juniperus fruit extract, nettle extract, and Sambucus nigra flower extract.
I only know two shades that this tinted moisturizer comes in: Light Tones and Dark Tones. I purchased the Dark Tones shade since it is the darkest one and it is for tan and dark skin tones.
The issue that I had with the packaging for this tinted moisturizer is that the product accumulates in the top, and that can be messy. The mess does stay in the top though; it does not get on the outside of the container, so it is not really a problem. The Virgo in me just does not like how messy it looks in the top and around the spout where the product comes out.
