Hello everyone! Merry Christmas! I meant to post more prior to the Christmas holiday, but I just recently moved, so packing and unpacking has taken so much time. This is my first move in at least 12 years, so I have accumulated a lot of stuff! Every moment that I have not been going through my things, I have been sleeping or working, so I have not had a lot of time or energy to enjoy myself or to shop for Christmas. I did buy a few things though at the mall, at Lil’ Thingamajigs, Ulta, and The Face Shop. I also received some awesome Christmas gifts from my sister this year! I will share everything with you all today in this holiday Christmas shopping haul!
Shopping At Ulta For Christmas
There were a lot of sales going on for the Christmas season at many stores, so I took this opportunity to buy cosmetics at Ulta that I have heard many beauty bloggers rave about on Youtube.
I go through a lot of concealers these days, so I picked up two popular ones at Ulta; I got the Tarte Shape Tape concealer, which is vegan and cruelty-free, and which has many natural ingredients in it including licorice root extract, sunflower seed oil, shea butter, convallaria majalis bulb root extract, Leontopodium alpinum flower leaf extract, Lilium candidum flower extract, magnolia flower extract, mango seed butter, olive oil, and Paeonia lactiflora root extract. This Tarte concealer is also made in Korea.
The other concealer that I got at Ulta is the Morphe Full Cover Concealer, which is supposed to be long-lasting, sweat and transfer-proof. This Morphe concealer is made in the U.S.
Ulta also had a CC cream that I really wanted to try that is well-liked on Youtube; they had the It Cosmetics Full Coverage Concealer with Spf 50. This CC Cream has many organic natural ingredients in it including lemon peel, bergamot oil, orange peel, lime oil, grapeseed oil, avocado oil, grapefruit peel oil, honeysuckle, licorice, olive leaf, glycerin, camellia leaf, chrysanthemum, magnolia, cinnamon, turmeric, hydrolyzed silk, hyaluronic acid, aloe, collagen, and biotin. I can not wait to try this CC cream!
The last thing that I picked up at Ulta was yellow banana face powder. I use a lot of face powder lately, so I needed to pick up some more. At the same time, I have never tried yellow banana face powder before, so I thought that this would be a great time to try some. The banana face powders that I got are by two popular brands, Makeup Revolution and Morphe.
With my purchase at Ulta, I received some freebies. I received primer, serum, and high-end brand perfume samples.
Shopping At The Face Shop/K-Beauty Haul
At the Face Shop, I picked up some nail products. I got one burgundy brick red brown gel nail polish for the Christmas season, as well as a couple of adorable blinged out nail stickers; one of the nail sticker sheets that I got gave me some serious Sailor Moon vibes (can you guess which one it is? Hint, look in the middle), so I am in love with it!
If you have followed my blog for a while, you will know I love eyeshadows, so of course, I had to get a few at The Face Shop. I am starting to get into orange eyeshadows. I used to not like orange eyeshadows or lip products because I felt that they did not suit my skin color, but my skin color has changed, so I think that these orange shades will look good on me. So, I got a few glittery orange shades that will be great for Christmas and Valentine’s Day.
One of the eyeshadows that I got looks metallic; one is glittery; one has shimmer, and the last one is a chrome (duochrome) eyeshadow.
The last thing that I picked up at The Face Shop was a face cleanser. The cleanser that I got is natural and organic made with blueberries and cherries, as well as glycerin, sage, moringa, and many other good ingredients for the skin.
Since I spent quite a bit at The Face Shop, I was given several free samples to take home. I received toner, a peptide ampoule, an emulsion, a face wipe, and face creams from The Face Shop and the Dr. Belmeur brand.
Cosmetic Christmas Gifts I Received This Year
My sister stayed with me during the Christmas holiday this year, so she brought some awesome Christmas gifts for me this year! I always love my sister’s gifts, but this year she outdid herself! She got me goodies that I fell in love with!
The first gift that my sister got me is the Sailor Moon ColourPop Mineral Pressed Eyeshadow Palette. This eyeshadow palette represents two of my favorite great loves: Sailor Moon and eyeshadows! I am a huge Sailor Moon fan, and I love collecting anime merchandise, so of course, I immediately fell in love with this eyeshadow palette.
This Sailor Moon eyeshadow palette is made in the U.S. and it comes with 12 shades; three matte shades; four shades that look matte, but have a little bit of glitter in them; four shimmer shades, and one full glitter shade that would do Sailor Jupiter justice. Three of the eyeshadows can be used as base shades, and I do feel that the shades chosen suit the anime very well!
The shade Silver Crystal suits Mini/Chibi Moon; the shade Silver Millennium is appropriate for Queen Serenity; the shade Mare Serenitatis screams Sailor Jupiter; the shade Luna is perfect for Luna in her human form, and the shade Justice suits Sailor V very well!
The base eyeshadow shades suit the skin tones of the Sailor Scouts nicely; the shade Love goes with the lip color of the scouts, and the shade Miracle Romance reminds me of Sailor Chibi Moon’s transformation uniform. So, the creators of this palette clearly put a lot of thought into the shade range. The only shade that I feel does not go with the anime is the Tuxedo Rose shade, since it is based on Tuxedo Mask’s red rose, but this shade is not close at all to that of a red rose. However, the color chosen for this palette does suit the palette more than a dark red rose would have, so I do understand why they chose it.
I plan to fully review this eyeshadow palette for you all after the holiday, so be on the lookout for that!
The other makeup product that my sister got me is a Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Travel Size Lipstick Set with five lipsticks in it. I am not fond of lip gloss because of the texture and how easily and quickly it is removed by eating and drinking, so I am glad that my sister got me matte lipsticks instead!
The last items my sister got me are some cute adorable Sailor Moon and Studio Ghibli Spirited Away, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and Grave of The Fireflies anime stickers!
Shopping For Anime At Lil’ Thingamajigs
One of the first things that I wanted to do for Christmas is get some anime to add to my collection, so I went to Lil’ Thingamajigs and picked out a few things.
The first thing that I fell in love with and had to grab at Lil’ Thingamajigs is this Studio Ghibli Totoro anime face mask! It is so cute! It is hard to come across anime face masks, so I just had to grab it!
The next thing that I picked up at Lil’ Thingamajigs is an adorable San-X Rilakkuma key chain! This key chain has Korilakkuma and Kiiroitori (“kiiroi” means yellow, and “tori” means bird or chicken/poultry) on it! I absolutely adore Rilakkuma, and since I just recently moved, I need a key chain for my new set of keys, so I can not wait to use this one!
My sister and I both adore Gudetama The Lazy Egg, so of course, I also got a cute Gudetama pencil for my language studies and note-taking.
The last thing that I picked up at Lil’ Thingamajigs is this unique Yes Anime 3D lenticular print for the Sentai Filmworks anime “The World Is Still Beautiful”. I have never seen a lenticular print poster before, but they are really cool! The image on the poster looks like it is moving at different angles! It also feels like the image is reaching out to you! I love it!
Lenticular prints are harder to find, even online, but if you find them, you should pick one up. Lenticular prints are made of a durable plastic that does not rip easily like paper posters or wall scrolls, so they are more long-lasting. I wish I could find a lenticular print for Studio Ghibli films or Sailor Moon because these types of posters are just too cool!
Conclusion
That is everything that I bought or received this Christmas! I tried to be conservative on spending since the economic situation is not great right now due to COVID-19. At the same time, with everything that is happening, you do not know what the future holds. I may not be here next Christmas, so I really want to enjoy myself this year; I want to celebrate still being here; celebrate still being alive, so I enjoyed being with my family and shopping with them this holiday season!
