Recently, I finished up some of my hair products, and since I am doing my hair much more frequently because the weather is hot and I am sweating out my hairstyle faster, I decided to buy some new products to try out. One of the products that I bought is a natural organic hair product called Curls Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Jelly. I will be reviewing this product today for you all.
Cost: $10.99 – $14.99, depending on where you buy it.
Ingredients: This hair jelly contains natural and organic ingredients. Some of the great ingredients in this product are organic blueberry fruit extract, organic argan oil, organic aloe leaf, castor oil, keratin, quinoa, silk amino acids, organic shea butter, organic mango seed butter, organic evening primrose oil, and jojoba.
This hair jelly was made without sulfates, silicones, parabens, or artificial oils. This brand is also cruelty-free. They do not test on animals.
Brand Promises: This brand promises that this hair product will add definition, shine, and hold to your hairstyle, as well as make your hairstyle last longer without the frizz.
Smell: This product has a clean fresh fruity blueberry scent to it, and although the cover of the product says that it does not contain fragrance, the ingredient list on the back does include fragrance. The smell is not a perfume scent, so I think that natural ingredients were used to create a natural fragrance for this product.
Hair Styled After Blowdrying
I styled my hair after I dried it for five minutes with a blow-dryer until my hair was 80% dry. I parted my hair into six sections, then I applied this hair jelly to each section. I brushed the hair jelly through my hair using my Denman brush, then I braided each section and went to bed so that it could continue to dry while I slept.

The product instructions are mentioned on the bottle, and they say that you should apply this hair jelly onto wet hair. I was curious how it would turn out though if I applied it onto hair that was blow-dried. Looking at the pictures above, my hair looks beautiful and the curls are shiny. There is a lot of frizz though, so I had to do my hair again about 2-3 days later. The frizz was mostly hidden at the center underneath my hair, so it was not very noticeable. My hair will tangle more with this much frizz in it and it will be harder to style after the first day or two, so I decided to wash it and style it again. This time, I followed the instructions when applying it.

After shampooing and conditioning my hair, I left my hair up in a towel for about 20 minutes. Then I took my hair down and put a moisturizer in it and a detangling spray to help me comb through the tight curls and remove any knots. Afterward, I applied this hair jelly to my hair and brushed it through with my Denman brush. I left my hair to air-dry while I got some work done. After about three hours, my hair was still slightly damp in places, and since I did not want to go to bed with damp hair since I could catch a cold, I decided to blow-dry the moist sections for two minutes; then I took pictures of it for you all to see how it came out:
Following the directions on the bottle had a far better outcome! My hair was shiny; it looked smooth, even at the roots, so my hair looked like it was permed. There was no frizz in my hair at all, and the curls just looked stunning, perfectly formed, and healthy. This hairstyle also lasted for days until I washed it again.
Seeing my hair turn out like this was amazing! I absolutely love how it came out! This hair product does everything that the brand promises that it does when applied to wet hair. I will definitely use this product more as my hair continues to grow out.
Final Thoughts
I absolutely love this hair jelly! It works excellently! I am so glad that I bought it. I am also happy with the affordability, and the healthy ingredients that this product contains. It is a bit of a challenge to find hair products that remove all of the frizz from ethnic hair while leaving the roots perfectly smooth, so this product is definitely a gem. I know a lot of Black women who would love this hair jelly, so I will be recommending it to some of my friends. If you have curly frizzy hair that you struggle with, I highly recommend giving this product a try! I think you will love it too!
