Today is Halloween! Happy Halloween everyone! For this fun holiday, I created a spooky but sexy makeup tutorial! This makeup tutorial is focused on deep vibrant red colors; it is an intense makeup look, but it is one that adults can wear, and which is not too difficult or too time-consuming to create. If you want to doll up your face for Halloween, create the look above, but do not want to create a makeup look that is too theatrical or in the realm of Special FX, then this is the perfect makeup tutorial for you!
Step-By-Step Halloween 🎃 Makeup Tutorial
Step 1: Your eyes should be as clear as possible because redness and discoloration will take away from your eye makeup. So, you should always apply medicated eye drops, or silver drops like the ones in our health store, to your eyes to clear cloudiness and redness.
Step 2: Clean the skin with toner and an astringent, such as the Natural Herbal Lotion, and then apply eye primer to your eyes, and a face primer to the rest of your face.
Step 3: Conceal dark circles with a color corrector and a concealer. I used the Nicka K New York Mineral Skin Perfector Concealer and the Maybelline New York Mineral Power Concealer to cover my dark circles.
Step 4: Apply your eyeshadows – I purchased the Trick-Or-Treat Halloween Mystery Bag from EmbyBoutique to create this makeup tutorial. With my mystery bag, I was sent three eyeshadows. I told Monique (the creator of EmbyBoutique) that I was going to be a vampire for Halloween, so I received one vampire red shade; a charcoal gray shade, and one shimmer white iridescent duochrome blue shade.
The EmbyBoutique cosmetics are vegan, cruelty-free, kosher, and made with more natural ingredients including vitamin E, glycerin, and pure pigments. The EmbyBoutique cosmetics are also paraben, sulfate, and gluten-free.
To create this makeup look above, I applied the red eyeshadow in the inner corner of my upper and lower lash line; I applied the dark charcoal gray shade (which looks black in the palette) from the middle to the outer corner of my eye on the upper and lower lash line; lastly, the duochrome iridescent eyeshadow was applied underneath the arch of my eyebrows.
To make all three of these eyeshadows as pigmented and as dark as possible, I spritzed water onto my eyeshadow brush, and then I dipped the eyeshadow brush into the eyeshadows and applied the shadows to my eyes.
Step 5: Line your upper and lower lash line with black eyeliner. I also applied a black liquid liner on top of my black liner on the upper lash line to make it darker and stay in place without smudging longer.
Step 6: Apply false eyelashes, or if you are not comfortable wearing falsies, feel free to apply mascara.
Step 7: Add bindi face stickers near the outer part of the eye. I applied four bindi self-adhesive face and nail stickers to my face underneath my eyes at the outer corner. All of the bindis that I used were in a similar color to my eye makeup, so I added 3 red gemstone bindis, and one moon-shaped red bindi.
If you are interested in bindis and want some for yourself, you can find them here in my eBay store. Bindis can be used on the face as face stickers, on nails as nail art, and as fake nose piercings.
Step 8: Apply face foundation. For this look, I used the Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Liquid Foundation in the shade Mocha.
Step 9: Apply concealer in those areas on your face where you need extra coverage because of hyperpigmentation and discoloration. For this look, I used the Maybelline New York Mineral Power Concealer.
Step 10: Set your makeup with setting powder.
Step 11: Draw in your eyebrows. As always, I drew in my eyebrows with a black herbal mineral kajal eyeliner. You can find these natural eyeliners in my eBay store here.
Step 12: Apply lipstick. I wanted my lips to stay a vibrant red for a long time, so I drew in my lips with a lip liner first. I filled in all of my lips with the Korean Saemmul Longwear Multi Lip Pencil in the shade RD03. To further enhance and darken my lip color, I applied the red eyeshadow that came in my mystery bag on top of the lip pencil. This created a very vibrant, pigmented, beautiful matte red lip.
Voila! You are done! Here is the finished look!
