Hello everyone! It has been a little while since I did an eyeshadow review, so today, I will review a dual eyeshadow by the Korean brand A’PIEU. This is their Mineral Mono Dual-Color Eyeshadow Palette.
Cost: $4.50 – $6.00, depending on where you buy it.
Amount of Product: You get 1 gram of each eyeshadow.
This dual eyeshadow palette is made in Korea.
Shades: A’Pieu has 20 dual eyeshadows available. I purchased #10 Tiramisu Time.
A’PIEU has several dual-color eyeshadows in this line that range from mattes, shimmers, to glitters. The brand states that these eyeshadows can also be used as highlighters.
Ingredients: Each eyeshadow will have a slightly different formula, but the A’PIEU eyeshadows in this Mineral Mono Eyeshadow Line are mineral-based, so they contain healing ingredients including beeswax, sal tree seed butter, coconut oil, macadamia seed oil, castor oil, and aloe vera leaf extract.
How Do These Eyeshadows Look On The Eyes?
Dark Coffee Brown Espresso Shade
This is a matte dark coffee brown espresso shade that is very pigmented in just one swatch. This eyeshadow applied easily and smoothly with a makeup brush, but you can also apply it with your fingers.
Yellow Gold Shade
This eyeshadow is a soft yellow gold glitter shade. Unlike the dark brown shade above, this eyeshadow did not apply well with a brush, so I had to use my fingers to apply it. However, it was very easy and quick to apply using my fingers.
This eyeshadow has some fallout because of the glitter particles in it, and you do need to use an eye primer with it because it is not very pigmented alone. However, even with an eye primer, several layers are still needed to get good pigmentation with this eyeshadow. Compared to most glitter and shimmer eyeshadows, this one is not as pigmented.
Hypoallergenic for Sensitive Eyes: Neither of these eyeshadows irritated my eyes, so this is good. Sometimes glitter eyeshadows will irritate the eyes if the glitter particles are too big and not refined enough, so the fact that this glitter eyeshadow did not bother me, is a good sign about the formula.
Final Thoughts
Both of these eyeshadows are soft gentle colors. They are pigmented, but they are more natural colors that you can wear on a daily basis or in the workplace. They are soft enough that they would appeal to Japanese women, as well as those into natural makeup styles.
Both eyeshadows are easy to apply, the price point is great, and the formula is mineral-based, so these eyeshadows are great for those with sensitive eyes. Considering the price, the formula, and the fact that you get two eyeshadows, I think that these eyeshadows are of good quality. I plan to check out more A’PIEU cosmetics in the future!
