I love face makeup, so I like to try a lot of different foundations, as well as BB and CC creams. There are so many options available when it comes to face makeup, so to help you find some good BB cream brands, I will review my first BB cream on this site here today. Physicians Formula is one of the most well-known makeup brands, it is easily accessible in drugstores, it is a natural makeup brand, and it is inexpensive, so it is a great brand to start with. So today, I will review the Physicians Formula Argan Wear BB Cream.
This BB cream is made with:
- Castor Oil
- Shea Butter
- Argan Oil
- Willow Bark Extract
- Glycerin
Along with many other ingredients.
This Physicians Formula BB cream has SPF 30.
The cost for this BB cream is around $10, depending on where you buy it.
The amount of product that you get in this BB cream is 1.2 oz, 35 ml.
This BB cream has no perfume scent.
Some of the benefits of the Physicians Formula makeup products are that they are gluten-free, paraben-free, cruelty-free, and hypoallergenic for sensitive skin.
This Physicians Formula BB Cream only comes in two shades:
Review and Wear Test
I did a wear test for this BB cream. I wore this BB cream for over six hours for several days in a row. I found this BB cream to be really light and white on the skin when taking pictures with a flash, so there is flashback. In normal lighting when you are not taking pictures with a flash, this BB cream appears to match the skin color. Since this BB cream only comes in two light shades, I do not feel that this BB cream is meant for brown-skinned ladies or women of color.
I put my hand in the picture so that you can see just how white this BB cream looks on tan skin when you use a flash.
Coverage
This BB cream does cover well and you can layer it for more coverage. When I layered this BB cream, I could not get full coverage, but I was able to get medium coverage. Since the coverage is good, you can wear this BB cream alone and skip foundation on lighter makeup days.
Blending
I do not feel that this BB cream blends into or absorbs into the skin well. Instead, this BB cream seems to just sit on top of the skin because whenever I touched my face, this BB cream would come off onto my hands. This is both good and bad. This is good because you do not have to worry about this BB cream clogging your pores so much, but this is also bad because it will make your face makeup come off in some areas, which will make your makeup look bad and patchy.
Wear Test
After wearing this BB cream for a few hours, I did notice that it started to break down and look oily, so you will need to refresh it throughout the day. I recommend reapplying this BB cream to the areas where it wore off and then setting it with powder to get rid of the oiliness. Powdering your face should help stop the BB cream from coming off when you touch your face as well.
Long-Lasting
This BB cream did stay on my skin all day in the areas where I did not touch my face.
Lines
This BB cream did settle into the lines underneath my eyes, but it was barely noticeable; it was not noticeable enough to bother me, but since it did settle a little in this area, I do recommend keeping this BB cream away from the undereye area.
The formula for this BB cream is quite moisturizing, which is good for dry skin. Although this BB cream settled into the fines underneath my eyes, it did not settle into any other lines on my face, such as my smile lines, so I think it is a good BB cream.
Texture
This BB cream looks thick on the skin, but once I smoothed it out on my face, it did not feel heavy. While rubbing this BB cream between my fingers, it did feel oily on my fingers. However, on the skin, this BB cream did not look oily until after a few hours of wear.
Lastly, make sure that you shake this BB cream well before you apply it to your skin because if you do not shake it first, this BB cream will come out as a clear oil. Shaking it will mix everything together.
Final Thoughts
I love the Physicians Formula BB Creams. They are one of my favorite BB creams, so I have at least five of them. This Argan Wear BB cream, however, is not one of my favorites since there are no shades for dark or tan skin tones in this line like there are in the other Physicians Formula BB Cream lines. Still, I do like this BB cream since it has good coverage and it does appear to match my skin tone in normal lighting. Understanding this though, this BB cream will not suit many people. If you do not want your skin to appear whiter and you want a BB cream for more tan, brown, or golden skin, then this BB cream will not likely work for you.
Have you ever tried a Physician’s Formula BB cream before? Which is your favorite?
