Hello everyone! Today I will review a cruelty-free natural mineral cosmetic liquid foundation for you all. The product that I will review today is the Burt’s Bees Goodness Glows Liquid Foundation with meadowfoam.
Cost: $7-$12, depending on where you buy it.
Shades: This foundation has a nice shade range. There are 18 shades available online, and unlike with most makeup brands, this Burt’s Bees Foundation has an almost equal number of light and dark shades. I counted around seven shades for dark and tan skin tones. The Burt’s Bees dark shades are Chestnut, Cocoa, Rich Brown, Pecan, Maple, Rich Caramel, and Walnut.
Looking at this foundation, it looks really natural. This look reminds me a lot of a CC cream; it is just that natural. This foundation also does not seem to airbrush the skin, but it does cover up things like sunspots and redness.
The shade that I purchased is lighter than my skin tone, so the lightness did take away some of my skin’s natural glow. I think I would have gotten a more glowey effect if I had the right shade for my skin tone.
Coverage: This foundation is almost full coverage. It is also buildable, so the coverage is great.
Eye Area: This foundation is great for the under-eye area. It really moisturizes the eye area. It reduced the appearance of fine lines greatly, and it reduced the darkness underneath my eyes a lot. This foundation also applied smoothly, so I think that this will be a great foundation for older more mature skin.
Dry Skin: This foundation is great for dry skin. It really greatly reduces the look of dryness and peeling on the dry areas of my skin. My skin was very dry from a facial that I did the day before, but this foundation was able to hide the dryness that the facial created, so I am impressed with its moisturizing capabilities.
Smile Lines: This foundation did not settle into the lines around my mouth/my smile lines.
Application: This foundation blended out and applied easily with my fingers. It also reduced the appearance of pimples nicely. Interestingly enough, I did get better coverage with my fingers than with a beauty blender. The beauty blender seemed to just remove the foundation, so I liked how this foundation looked much more when applied with fingers.
Wear: This foundation did get a bit oily after a few hours, so make sure to set it with powder.
I think that this is a great foundation for everyday wear and for a natural no-makeup makeup look. The coverage and moisturizing effect for the under-eye area are great also, so I think that this is a foundation that will work well for different skin types. However, I do not recommend this foundation for people with oily skin, but it should work nicely for dry skin and people with older more mature skin.
