Hello everyone! It is only a few days before Christmas 🎄! Can you believe the holiday has come so fast? I will upload three more product reviews before the holiday comes, so I thought, I have not done a Mary Kay cosmetic review in a while, so I will do one today.
If you have followed this site for a while, you likely already know that I love the Mary Kay eyeshadows, but for the holiday, I wanted to do something different. So, rather than review the Mary Kay eyeshadows again this time, I will review the Mary Kay CC Cream for you all.
Cost: $22.
Shades: There are five shades available: Three light shades and two dark shades: Very Light, Light To Medium, Medium To Deep, Deep, and Very Deep. I was sent the shade Deep to try out. When my skin tone was lighter, this shade was too dark for me, but with my current darker skin tone, this shade matches me perfectly.
Ingredients: This cc cream is made with natural ingredients and botanical extracts, including niacinamide, vitamin e, ascorbyl glucoside, willow bark extract, antioxidants, silymarin extract, salicylic acid, and adenosine.
The Full Ingredient List
Homosalate 5%, Octinoxate 6.5%, Oxybenzone 1.2 %, water, Cyclopentasiloxane, butylene glycol, glycerin, PEG-9 polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone, niacinamide, mica, PEG-9 Dimethicone, magnesium sulfate, ascorbyl glucoside, Silybum marianum fruit extract, tocopheryl acetate, salix nigra (willow) bark extract, salicylic acid, adenosine, dimethicone/PEG-10/15 crosspolymer, disodium stearoyl glutamate, xanthan gum, dipropylene glycol, disodium EDTA, cyclohexasiloxane, sodium citrate, tocopherol, sorbic acid, sodium benzoate, benzyl alcohol, aluminum hydroxide, titanium dioxide, iron oxides
Brand Claims: This CC cream is supposed to be suitable for sensitive and acne-prone skin. It is supposed to hydrate the skin for 10 hours, protect the skin with SPF 15, brighten the skin, reduce redness, offer light coverage, improve the complexion, and help reduce the appearance and signs of aging.
Before (No Face Makeup)
Sensitivity: I have sensitive skin, and I was able to wear this CC cream just fine without any problems, so it is suitable for sensitive skin.
Coverage: As the brand says, this CC cream has light coverage. If you layer it by spot concealing, you can get medium coverage, but it will not reach full coverage.
Smell: There is a sweet clay smell. This CC cream is made without fragrance.
How It Looks, Applies, and Feels: This CC cream has a beautiful finish. It glides across the skin easily, it adheres well to the skin, it feels soft to the touch, and it gives the skin a soft feel. This CC cream looks natural on the skin and it looks and feels like you are not wearing anything. This CC cream also adds a dewy glow to the skin, it makes the skin look smoother, evens out the complexion, and does not feel oily or sticky.
Dark Circles: This CC cream does slightly improve the appearance of dark circles, but it does not really do that much for them, so you will still need concealer and neutralizer underneath the eyes.
Oily: How you apply this CC cream matters. When I applied this CC cream with my fingers, it looked oily, but when I applied it with a beauty blender, it did not look oily. Instead, it had a dewy finish. This CC cream stayed beautiful and it did not get oily when applied with a beauty blender, even after hours of wear.
Moisturizing: Just as the brand claims, this CC cream does moisturize the skin for many hours.
Final Thoughts
I feel that this CC cream does what the brand promises that it does. Its effect looks subtle, but it does really make a difference in the overall appearance of the skin. This CC cream adds a nice healthy glow to the skin, and it moisturizes and smoothes the skin well. This CC cream is also comfortable to wear and you forget that you are wearing it, so I do like this CC cream. The quality is good so I have no complaints about it 👌.
