Hello everyone! Today I will review a foundation by the famous drugstore brand Maybelline New York. This is their Fit Me Foundation. Maybelline, L’oreal, and CoverGirl are usually the first major big cosmetic brands that girls discover. In part, because of their large shade ranges and affordability, but also because of their reputation, so I have high hopes for this Maybelline foundation.

Among the Maybelline Fit Me line, you can get the original foundation, which is what I purchased, as well as the Matte + Poreless Foundation and the Dewy + Smooth Foundation.

Cost: $3.99 – $7.99, depending on where you buy it.

Amount of Product: 1 FL. Oz. 30 Ml.

Brand Promises: Maybelline promises that this is a dewy foundation that contains SPF 18. This foundation is supposed to blend in seamlessly, moisturize and smooth the skin, make the skin luminous, and allow the skin to breathe, so it will not clog pores like other foundations. This foundation is also supposed to be made without fragrance and it provides medium coverage.

Shades: I found 40 shades available for this foundation, and it looks like about half of them are darker tan shades. The large number of dark shades is amazing for this line! Maybelline did an excellent job!

I purchased the shade 340 Cappuccino, which is darker than my skin tone, but in normal lighting it is undetectable.

Ingredients: This foundation contains around 25 ingredients, so it is definitely a smaller ingredient list than what many other foundations have. When a product is not organic or natural, I really appreciate a smaller ingredient list.

Scent: This foundation has no perfume scent. It smells like clay.

How Does This Foundation Look On The Skin?

This foundation looks smooth and beautiful on the skin. It looks just like my skin in terms of color in natural lighting, and it looks like I am not wearing any face makeup. This foundation also absorbs quickly into the skin and dries very fast.

Dark Circles, Lines, Dry Skin: This foundation covers dark circles well. It reduces the appearance of lines underneath the eyes also. This foundation does not settle into lines or dry patches on the skin either.

Coverage: This foundation can be layered to reach full coverage.

Formula: This foundation does not have a watery consistency. It has a thick consistency, but it does not feel heavy on the skin. While wearing this foundation, I forgot that I was wearing anything. Furthermore, this foundation is easy and fast to apply, so it is a great on-the-go foundation to keep on hand.

Final Thoughts

I like this foundation. It really blends in seamlessly as the brand promised. This foundation is one of my favorite foundations because it is just so fast and easy to apply; it is undetectable on the skin, very comfortable to wear, and is very affordable.

The shade that I purchased may be darker than my skin tone, but I do not mind at all. On tan skin, it is harder to detect a darker foundation than it is to detect one that is too light. So overall, the formula for this foundation is just perfect for me and I really love it. I understand how Maybelline got such a great reputation in the beauty industry. This brand makes some great cosmetic products, so do I highly recommend at least trying their foundations because the quality is impressive!
