Hello everyone! I hope you all are still safe and well. Today, I will review a mineral concealer since I have not reviewed a concealer in a while. There are not as many mineral concealers out there on the market as there are traditional high-end or drugstore ones, but I still did find a lot of them on Amazon; I purchased a few since I used up a few concealers recently. So today, the concealer that I will review today is the Nicka K New York Mineral Concealer Skin Perfector.
Cost: This concealer is very affordable. It costs between $3.99 – $6.99, depending on where you buy it.
This mineral concealer comes in four shades: Shell (the lightest shade), Light, Medium, and Dark. I purchased the shade Medium MP702.
This concealer is specifically designed to cover darkness, discoloration, age spots, and dark circles underneath the eyes. This concealer has a heavy red brick coloration that is great for covering hyperpigmentation and dark discoloration.
This brand, Nicka K New York, promises that this concealer is made without fragrances or preservatives, and it is fade-resistant and cake-resistant.
Smell: There is no smell.
Packaging: The packaging feels sturdy, so that is good. However, I do not like putting my hands directly into the concealer since it is unhygienic. This will also make the concealer go bad faster. This is a low-cost mineral cosmetic though, and I do go through concealer pretty quickly, so it should still last me a while so I do not mind the packaging so much.
How Does This Concealer Look On The Eyes? How Well Does It Cover Dark Circles?
This concealer covers dark circles extremely well! The formula does seem to have quite a bit of oil in it though, so I do not recommend it for people with oiliness around their eyes. If the skin around your eyes is normal or dry though, then I do think that this concealer will work excellently for you.
Since this concealer does look oily, you will need to set it with a setting powder to take down the shine and to set the concealer in place so that it does not move around and it will last all day.
This concealer did not cake at all, and it did stay in place all day once I set it with powder. The concealer does not fade, but it will come off if you touch it without setting it with powder first.
I applied this concealer to my eyes, then I applied my makeup and set the concealer with powder. Here is how my makeup and dark circles looked while wearing this concealer:
Final Thoughts
This is an excellent concealer! It really conceals dark circles extremely well, and it really makes the skin look much more flawless and perfect. This concealer also blends in with the skin color nicely, so that it is less detectable. What I love most about this concealer is how it really enhances the eye makeup, and how moisturizing it is. This is a great concealer for those with dry skin, and who want a more full coverage flawless finish.
The only downside to this concealer is that it does show the lines underneath the eyes more since the oily texture settles into them. However, once you smooth the concealer underneath your eyes and set it with powder, the lines are much less noticeable than they would have been on your bare face without any makeup. Thus, this is definitely a great concealer for many people with different skin types. I think this concealer will also work for those with older more mature skin, where there are lines underneath the eyes. If your goal is a high coverage concealer for dark circles, and you like flawless perfect makeup looks, then I highly recommend this concealer.
