Sexy Matte Red Lip Gold Eyeshadow – A Step-By-Step Makeup Tutorial

Want to know how I created this simple, but sexy look above? Then keep reading 💋.

1. Apply eye drops when your eyes look tired or red. I have not been sleeping well because of the constant construction happening outside of my home, so I needed to lessen the redness and make my eyes look whiter and clearer. Thus, I applied eye drops. I prefer natural herbal eye drops. Some excellent eye drops are Colloidal Silver Eye Drops. I use these most often when my eyes are having serious issues like soreness, extreme redness, itchiness, constant watering or discharge, since this can indicate a bacterial infection. We have Colloidal Silver Eye Drops available in our store.

I also use eye drops almost every day because I like to clean out my eyes; I feel that this is a good, healthy hygiene habit to have. Lately, however, I have been rushing a lot, so I have been skipping this step. My makeup does not look as good when I skip this step though, so I highly  recommend cleaning out your eyes every day before applying makeup because whiter eyes look healthier, and your eye makeup will stand out more.

2. Apply an eyeliner sealer. An eyeliner sealer acts as an eye primer, but it does even more. An eyeliner sealer can be applied over eyeliner to help reduce smudging; it can be mixed with any eyeshadow to turn it into an eyeliner; it can make poorly pigmented eyeshadows very pigmented, and it can be used to adhere glitter to the eyes without having to worry about it falling off.

3. Apply eyeshadow.

I only applied the gold eyeshadow in the 3W Clinic No.3 Eyeshadow Palette on top of my eyelids. The shade I used has a blue star over it. I did not apply a base shadow first.

4. Apply black eyeliner to the upper lash line.

I did a small mini wing on the end of my liner. I used a black Korean gel liner in this makeup tutorial. The eyeliner I used is the Nature Republic Botanical Gel Liner.

5. Apply black eyeshadow on top of the eyeliner; this will darken the liner, help lessen smudging, and make your black liner look more matte in appearance.

6. Apply mascaraI only applied mascara to my upper lashes. I have very sensitive eyes, so I find that I can not use drugstore mascaras. However, after hunting down mascaras for years, I finally found a mascara brand that does not irritate my eyes at all: It is the herbal Palladio Mascara. So, for this look, I used the black Palladio Lash Obsessed Mascara.

7. Apply under eye concealer or a lighter foundation to conceal darkness underneath the eyes. The foundation that I used to conceal my dark circles for this look is the Revlon Colorstay Whipped 24 Hrs Cream Foundation in the shade 370 Natural Tan.

8. Fill in your brows. I used a dark brown auto pencil liner to create this look because I wanted my brows to be a little less dark and less bold for this makeup look. You can use any dark brown eyeliner that you have at home to create this look 👌.

9. Apply foundation. I used a well-loved foundation: the Nuance Salma Hayek Flawless Finish Liquid Foundation in the shade 285 Medium/Deep Warm. I can wear this foundation without applying any powder on top of it, it dries fast, the coverage is really good, and it does not settle into my dry spots or laugh lines.

10. Apply concealer to the areas where you want more coverage. I used a product that I am obsessed with, and which I can not imagine life without anymore: It is the Jane Iredale Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream in the shade BB#11.

11. Finally, apply lipstick. I applied the Eglips Lively Lip Matte Tattoo in shade #5. This lipstick is very pigmented, it dries to a matte finish, and it does have a slight scent, but there is no perfume scent in my opinion. The pigmentation for this lip product is strong enough that some of it will remain on your lips even after eating. The only downside to this lip product is that once you eat, it does not fade in a flattering way: it tends to become very uneven and patchy. However, whenever I have a lip product that fades like this, I apply a lip tint in the same color first, and then I apply the lipstick on top of it; this makes the lip makeup fade more smoothly.
