The weather has been very hot lately, and there is a lot of greenery since it is summertime, so I felt inspired to create a summer makeup look that is inspired by nature and summer greenery. This look is a fun happy look that was fairly easy to create. Here is a step-by-step tutorial on how to recreate this look.
Step 1: Cleanse your eyes so that they look whiter, and naturally enhance your makeup more. I like to cleanse my eyes by applying eye drops or Silver ESP Water to them.
Step 2: Prime The eyes with an eye primer or an eyeliner sealer. Both will make eye makeup last longer on the eyes and enhance the color of your eyeshadow and eyeliner.
Step 3: Apply your eyeshadows. You will need two eyeshadows to create this look: a light lime green eyeshadow with yellow undertones for the inner part of the eye going outward towards the middle of the eye. A lighter but slightly darker green eyeshadow with blue undertones is needed for the middle of the eye going towards the outer part of the eye. You will need to blend these two together where they meet in the middle of the eye so that the transition between them looks smooth and there are no harsh lines.
The eyeshadows that I used to create this look are by the vegan Etsy brand EmbyBoutique by Monique Boule. These two eyeshadows were in one of her eyeshadow palettes that I purchased. You can check out her eyeshadows here.
Monique Boulé has nicely offered a coupon code to those who follow my blog for $5 off their order. Use the code “Daria” to receive the discount. No order minimum. Free shipping in the USA.
To blend and apply these eyeshadows, I used the Mary Kay Eye Makeup Brush. This brush did a great job blending these two eyeshadows; it did not hold too much product or take away from the eyeshadow’s pigmentation.
Step 4: Conceal the under-eye area. If you have heavy dark discoloration or dark circles underneath your eyes, you will need to use a neutralizer on this area first, and then apply concealer on top of it.
Step 5: Line the upper lash line with a black liner. This is an intense eye makeup look so I used black eyeliner and I made the line thick. To line my eyes, I used a black gel liner, and I used the Elf Small Smudge Brush to draw the line.
Step 6: Line the lower lash line. This line should be very dark and very tight; it should be thin, but thicker than if you were to simply tightline your eyes.
Step 7: Apply black eyeshadow on top of both eyeliner lines on the upper and lower lash line to make the liner very dark and smooth.
Step 8: Apply your face foundation and concealer to cover scars and imperfections so that your makeup looks smooth and perfect.
Step 9: Draw/Fill in your brows. I drew in my brows with an herbal black kajal eyeliner. I drew in my brows so that they would look strong, dark, and black; this is a good match for the strong eye makeup look that I chose to create.
I spread the kajal liner throughout my brows using the Mary Kay Eyeliner Eyebrow Spoolie Brush so that it would give me more natural-looking brows.
If you want to try an herbal organic kajal eyeliner, they are available here in my eBay beauty store.
Step 10: Apply mascara or false eyelashes. Since this look is dramatic, I decided to apply false eyelashes instead of mascara so that the makeup is more intense. Of course, if you are not comfortable wearing false eyelashes, or if you want to make this look lighter and less intense, you can apply mascara instead of false eyelashes. It is up to you.
If you are going to work in the office, falsies are not ideal, but they are great for special occasions like clubbing, parties, or family get-togethers. Since Coronavirus has us staying home a lot more, I wear falsies as much as I can, even when simply going out to get food. With practice, you can apply falsies fairly quickly, and get more comfortable wearing them.
Step 11: Apply lip makeup. Since this is a heavy eye makeup look, you can pair it with a pink lip. However, I chose to pair it with a red lip since I love red lip makeup.
I created this look using a red Korean lip tint so that it would be long-lasting throughout the day. Of course, I applied a Korean lip balm to my lips first to moisturize them, and to prevent them from drying out from the lip tint.
The lip tint that I used to create this look is by the Korean cosmetic brand It’s Skin; this is their Babyface Oil Drop Tint in the shade 10.
Step 12: I applied a bindi to my forehead in a color that matched my eye makeup. This step is of course optional. I love bindis though and I use them all the time as fake nose studs, as part of my nail art, or on my forehead paired with my makeup.
