Acne is something we all get sometimes, but there are some products and simple things that you can do to improve your acne and reduce the frequency of breakouts.

Tip #2: Do not touch your face
It is a good hygiene habit to avoid touching your face, even when at home. The reason for this is because bacteria like staph can live on many surfaces in your home, from countertops, door handles, to objects that you touch all the time, like your alarm clock, towel, or razor.
“Family members of children who have staph infections are more likely than other people to carry drug-resistant versions of the bacteria, even though they may not have any symptoms of infection, a new study suggests. The researchers looked at 609 family members of 183 children infected with Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) bacteria and found that 53 percent — all who lived with the infected child — also carried staph bacteria. Between 25 and 30 percent of people in the general population carry staph bacteria, typically in the nose, without symptoms, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)…Staph infections spread via close contact and the sharing of certain items, such as towels or razors, which are potential reservoirs of staph bacteria” (Live Science Staff. (2013, May 30). Staph Bacteria in Household Boosts Infection Risk. Live Science).
Tip #3: Never go to bed without washing your face
When you leave bacteria on your face over night, they can absorb into your skin and form colonies of bacteria because your pores open when you sleep. The bacteria that entered through your pores can cause a breakout and skin problems, such as rashes, zits, pimples, or hives.
Tip #4: Check your makeup regularly
Check your makeup regularly to see if it smells off or if it has gone bad. Always check your makeup for color, consistency, and smell changes. Makeup can grow mold, so check for weird black dots or fuzz growing in or on top of your makeup. Applying makeup to your face when it has grown bacteria can lead to many health problems for you, such as pink eye, eye irritation, rashes, and breakouts.
Tip #5: Avoid putting your cell phone directly on your face
Keep your cell phone a small distance away from your face because your cell phone is as contaminated as a public toilet. Most people never clean their cell phones, but it goes outside with them all the time. People place their phones on a variety of surfaces. Phones are constantly dropped on the ground and end up in all kinds of places, so phones can carry a lot of bad bacteria that can easily be transferred to your face.
“A recent study found more than 17,000 bacterial gene copies on the phones of high school students. Scientists at the University of Arizona have found that cell phones carry 10 times more bacteria than most toilet seats” (Abrams, A. (2017, August 23). Product Recommendations: The 4 Best Skincare Products for Acne
Product Recommendation #1: Barbara Frank’s Natural Herbal Lotion
The Natural Herbal Lotion works wonders for serious skin problems like acne, infections, rashes, and rosacea. This product kills germs and bacteria rapidly, and it has many different uses. I use this product for treating cuts and injuries, treating mosquito bites and spider bites, growing my hair out long and thick, killing mites and lice, and reducing the size of pimples. Having this product in your arsenal will greatly reduce and improve breakouts, and boost the overall health of your skin.
Product Recommendation #2: Barbara Frank’s Lympha Cleanse
Use a strong astringent to wash your face. There are a lot of natural and organic soaps on the market, but they disrupt your hormones and they just do not do enough. If the soaps that you are using to wash your face had enough cleaning agents in them, you would not be suffering with acne as much or have breakouts often. Unfortunately, most brands focus more on moisturizing the skin, but you should prioritize cleansing the skin to prevent the growth of germs and bacteria. The reason the Lympha Cleanse is such a great cleaner is because it is strong and contains many natural cleansers. This cleanser also smells amazing!
Product Recommendation #3: Barbara Frank’s Rose Beautifying Cream
I apply the Rose Beautifying Cream to my face every night before bed. This product is an excellent nightly treatment to help smooth out the skin, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, moisturize the skin, and help clean and regenerate the skin. This product is also available with copper peptides, with hyaluronic acid, and as a sample size.
This is what the Rose Beautifying Cream looks like on the skin; it gives the skin a healthy, smooth, moisturized glow.
I massage Barbara Frank’s Rose Beautifying Cream in a circular motion all over my face every night.
Product Recommendation #4: Exfoliating Facial Products & Scrubs
You should exfoliate your skin regularly. I am going to be honest, and many of you will not agree with what I am about to say, but the truth is that I exfoliate my skin every day. I know that all over the internet people tell you to exfoliate your skin once a week, but think about this for a moment: Every time you wash your body in the shower with a rag or loofah, are you not exfoliating it? So, why would you not do the same for your face, which is far more exposed to the elements, dirt, and bacteria than the rest of your body? We scrub the parts of our body every night that are protected and covered up with clothing. Your face has nothing to protect it during the day, so it is much more prone to breakouts, infection, and being colonized by bacteria. So, it is really important to give your face even more attention than other parts of your body.
To clarify, when I say exfoliate the skin, I do not mean that you must use a facial scrub on it every day. There are many different products that you can use to exfoliate your skin. For example, I like to add a strong astringent to my soap and apply a warm heated cloth to my face every day. Using a face mask or a heated rag or towel will remove dirt and dead skin cells thoroughly; these are not as stripping as face scrubs, and they do more than just washing your face with soap and water would.
Dealing with acne can be emotionally and physically draining, but you can beat it; it just takes time, patience, good hygiene habits, and the right products! Now that you have read this article, you now know what you need to do to start improving your skin today! Best of luck!
