Product Review: Cruelty-Free Makeup – CoverGirl Trublend Liquid Foundation

Hello everyone! It is time for another product review. The product I will review today is the CoverGirl Trublend Liquid Foundation in the shade D4.

Cost: Under $15 dollars
Cruelty-Free: Yes, CoverGirl is cruelty-free; they do not test on animals 🐰.

Brand Promises: CoverGirl promises that this foundation is oil-free, hypoallergenic, that it won’t clog pores, that it will blend in flawlessly with your skin, and that they will have a 99% match for all skin tones.

Shade Range: CoverGirl has an awesome shade range! There are 7 light shades, 7 medium shades, and 7 dark shades, so there are 21 shades in total to choose from.

The shade that I have is called D4, which is the fourth darkest shade. This shade matches my skin color perfectly.

Scent: There is no perfume scent; this foundation has the typical clay smell that most foundations have.

Ingredients: This foundation has 19 ingredients in it. I much prefer a smaller ingredient list like this when the product is not organic or natural.

The CoverGirl TruBlend Liquid Foundation comes with a pump so that you can control how much product comes out and you will not contaminate the product so the foundation will last longer. The packaging for this foundation seems nice and sturdy as well.

How This Foundation Looks On The Skin

My Skin Type: I had normal skin since I was a child, but recently it has become oily.

Does The CoverGirl Trublend Liquid Foundation Do What It Promises?

This foundation did blend perfectly with my skin tone. I looked flawless while wearing this foundation; I also didn’t look like I was wearing makeup since the foundation matched so well. This foundation also has long staying power because it stayed on my skin the whole day.

Does It Conceal Dark Circles? This foundation did reduce the appearance of the darkness underneath my eyes, but I do feel that I would still need concealer to completely get rid of my dark circles; this foundation alone was not enough to completely conceal the darkness underneath my eyes.

Is It Oily? I wore this foundation for almost 7 hours and my skin did not really look oily, but it had a bit of a sheen to it as the hours passed. So, if you have oily skin, I recommend setting this foundation with powder to reduce the oiliness throughout the day.

Does It Settle Into Fine Lines? This CoverGirl Trublend Liquid Foundation did settle into the lines around my eyes, but it did not settle into the lines on the rest of my face, such as my smile lines. So, if you wear this foundation, make sure you keep it away from underneath the eye area.

Final Thoughts

I like the look of this CoverGirl foundation; it looks natural and it really matches my skin tone nicely. In terms of oiliness, in the summer, you will likely need to set this foundation to prevent it from looking oily as it breaks down. If your skin is oily, then I recommend going for a matte CoverGirl foundation instead of this one.

Some of the best features of this foundation are its price/affordability, its large shade range, and that it is cruelty-free! I also think this is a good-quality foundation, so I do recommend it. I think this foundation will suit people with dry and normal skin the best.
